Cork St. Patricks Day Festival culminates with the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Cork at 1pm on March 17th.

Welcome to the Cork St. Patrick's Festival 2011 when the city bursts into life from Thursday 17th March to Sunday 20th.

This year's festival will be jam packed with family friendly events as well  showcasing the best of local artisian food and craft producers in the heart of the city.

The theme of this year's parade is Happiness and applications are now being accepted for participation. So if you are part of a community or voluntary group, perhaps music, arts or performance is your thing or maybe you want to march under your club colours, then get out and get involved.

2010 saw  a 40 foot Crocodile, complete with Peter Pan and Captain Hook pirates,as just one of the large line-up of 2,100 colourful Parade participants who took to the streets of Cork city on St. Patrick’s Day.  The Parade, presented by Cork City Council, kicked off at 1pm.  

The theme in 2010 was Ships to Shore – celebrating Cork ’s maritime culture. Some of the Parade participants include Cork Circus pirate stilt walkers and mermaids, Naomhoga Chorcaí life size Transformers, Batton Swinging Jetsetters Majorettes and Sproai‘s Croc Attack 40 foot Crocodile as well a whole range of community, voluntary, defence force personnel and pipe and brass bands. .

The Parade started at 1pm from the top of South Mall at Parnell Place and traveled down South Mall onto the Grand Parade, winding around St. Patrick’s Street and finishing at the end of Merchant’s Quay.
