Clonakilty International Guitar Festival

The Clonakilty International Guitar Festival, first established in 2005, is a celebration of one of the world’s most versatile and influential of all musical instruments and pays tribute to all who strum those hallowed six strings. In keeping with the festivals title, virtuosos and innovative guitarists from five continents, have slung their six strings over their shoulders and made the pilgrimage to the seaside town of Clon to wash the schools, streets, halls and pubs with every pick, every strum and every tone of music that any acolyte of this glorious instrument could wish for!

Last year the festival attempted to break the World Record for Largest Ensemble Guitar Performance, with over 834 people participating. This year will yet again see the festival attempt to play the same song, at the same time, together, on that majestic instrument we call the guitar.
The 2010 Clonakilty International Guitar Festival hopes to finally break the world record so spread the word and come along!
